As part of our ongoing effort to catalogue the size of the global PR industry, and the agencies within it, we have come up with a pretty cool interactive map located here.
I’ve included a screenshot below, but to get the full effect you should really click through to our dedicated Global Agency Rankings site.
What we have done should be fairly self-evident but, if not, I’ll explain. The dots on the map represent the cities in which our Top 250 Agencies are located. (It also includes affiliates, which explains the string of dots that punctuate Africa and Latin America.)
The size of those dots correlate to the number of offices within a given city. We have highlighted the results from the six cities that are most popular with our Top 250 – London, New York, San Francisco, Washington DC, Paris, Hong Kong and Singapore.
I’ll let you click through to see the full results, but I will reveal that London, perhaps unsurprisingly, has a credible claim to the title of PR capital of the world.
NOTE: These are based on our 2011 rankings, which are in turn based on results from 2010. We are currently collating 2011 information for this year’s ranking. If you would like to take part, entry forms are available in DOC or PDF formats, or you can take part in the survey online here using the username AGENCY and the password RANKING.

Three cities in each geography. THE US has 3, Europe has 3. So Asia should…. Disappointing to not see New Delhi feature here.
Cities were chosen based on the number of offices, rather than any quota system for regions. New Delhi only had 22.
Not sure if you realized but you categorized Mexico as South American on this map when it is in fact part of North America! Just thought you might want to fix that.
Very good interactive map…
